A new aesthetic definition needed to be given to the concept of all day café eatery in the suburbs of Athens. Arch was born in a building shell with neoclassical characteristics; large scale arched openings on all sides, high level ceiling and decorative gypsum profiles on every angle. Small interior space and large exterior had to be equipped with the necessities of a contemporary brunch-café-cocktail bar.

  • Main text 2:

Sunlight was the key factor for the design proposal. Textured tiles, styled plaster, fumed mirrors and natural grained wood were given cohesion and life thanks to the natural light that enters the interior through the classy arches.
The interior was designed with an impressive bar occupying most of the area. The rest is equipped with high tables and a yellow leather couch combined with low wooden tables and high-end design armchairs.
The floor and the bar front are coated with rhombus-shaped tiles in shades of grey and touches of yellow that create an optical illusion of axonometric cubes stacked one on top of the other. The bar top is from blonde wood, as are all table tops made from as well. Dark brown thin metallic beams compose the table base frames and the bar bottle display. This construction on the bar’s back wall is the main decorative attraction of the space. It consists of rectangular frames in random repetition composing a full height and wide bottle case that passes over the large openings half-covered by mirrors. Mirrors cover many surfaces in order to expand visually the halls width and hide volumes such as the kitchen elevator.

  • Main Text 3:

In addition, the interior wall surfaces have been divided in three layers colored in different shades of grey styled plaster that repeats the floor’s tone on the bottom and darkens gradually going up to the ceiling, which is painted the darkest shade of grey.

Finally large metal framed rectangular luminaires hanged over the bar top and smaller mounted on the walls create a welcoming atmosphere through the warmth emitted by light bulbs of extraordinary elegant design.
The exterior convertible space is framed by linear couches on its two lateral sides and the rest space under the shade of two trees is filled with various combinations of chairs, stools and armchairs around wooden tables.
    Overall sunlight is the protagonist…

  • Main Text 1:

The Block 146 bar restaurant was created in the 146 block of  N. Erithraia to serve as an all hour’s meeting point attraction.
The aim of its design was to create a classic area with a touch of industrial feel and atmosphere which reminds a New York bistro.
The two central columns which bisect the space, determined the layout of the bar in a parallel way to the seating space, so that the eyesight and movement to be free and unobstructed. Moreover, the selection and use of materials needed to provide the necessary unity and for this purpose the inlay embracing the bar turns and meets the wooden floor whose application is shifted diagonally towards the rear of the floor. At the same time a metal structure unites the structure of the illuminated bar shelves with the hanging sofa, while forming the fundamental support pillars of lighting in the ceiling height .

  • Main text 2:

The chosen wall lamps with black and yellow brackets, as well as the green leather couches were designed so as to provide a touch of color and to create the right atmosphere setting the boundaries of the eye-catching bar.
In search of warm surfaces on which the reflections and shadows will be scattered around, the chosen eco plaster finish gave the desired result.
The brick with a dark gray shade creates a playful depth illusion in the darkest corner of the room which has a lower ceiling, while its use in all the external sides of the space alternate  with the suspended separating panes of  Factory type iron muntin windows.

  • Main Text 3:

The existence of additional materials and structures such as the mirrors , the neon lights , the graphics , the external conditioning channels and blinds, synthesize the ambience  so as to alternate moods , to draw contrasts and to create the interest  for a bold architecture that endures in time.

The bar restaurant called  “Check me-Social Hub” situated in North suburbs of Athens, Kifisia, thanks to its skillful concept combining Bar and Living Room with Restaurant is a special place for urban socializing.   In addition to this, an authentic interior design concept with natural materials and dedication to detail was created in order to give to the visitor the impression and the feeling of being in a familiar and friendly environment
Despite its small size the space is divided into smaller units that create different moods and serve different needs similar to those encountered by someone in a house (dining room, bar, office).
Large arched metal elements in the facades reveal a warm atmosphere to passers-by which - in a symbiosis of light and material - makes them want to enjoy a coffee.

  • Main text 2:

The open wood flooring featuring in chevron style, the wall coating with brick and the careful choice of colors and furniture reveal a strong influence of Scandinavian design composing through the simplicity of lines a unique and peaceful environment.
The main area is divided into two parts –the interior and the atrium. This is achieved by choosing a different wallpaper on the ceilings, and the different organization of tables in the two parts. The 'interior' consists of the bar and a large glass dining table, while the 'atrium' is formed by a more casual table configuration. The same philosophy continues to the exterior of the restaurant causing a harmonization with the natural environment, creating a delightful destination.

  • Main Text 3:

Finally, special attention was given to the lighting design in order to create a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Decorative lightings hanging from the ceiling, wall mounted lightings and spotlights in selected locations create an intimate and friendly atmosphere in the area and allow to the client to feel equally comfortable throughout the day and night.

  • Main Text 1:

"Giacomo" restaurant is a space of sophisticated design and aesthetics. Its concept is mainly dedicated to offer the visitor the feeling of luxury and classical atmosphere.
The main interior space is divided up by an ornate plaster arch and at the same time it communicates with the external area which is arranged into three zones. The outcome of this division is a main restaurant with a well-designed hall, a bar with comfortable lounge seats, a patio with rotonda tables designed for all day use, a back yard as an area of privacy and al fresh -the outdoor garden along the trail of the shopping center.

  • Main text 2:

The concept claims for the diversity of all spaces in terms of use and to create a living space for all hours of the day. We consider very important the customer's need to experience the space differently on every visit. Thus, this sceme, a look alike multi-concept hotel lobby, emphasizes on this feeling.

The crafted gypsum details on the inner walls combined with the old-fashioned arched mirrors and the themed wallpaper, the chevron wood flooring as well as the choice of colors and furniture, constitute a unique setting in order to give the impression of reviving a different “era”.

  • Main Text 3:

It is worth to notice the different proposal on the ceilings and layouts of the two parts. The bar with its wooden finish and marble surfaces consists an area ideal for fine drinking but also fine dining where the visitor can enjoy his meal in the lounge area which is featuring the cozy velvet sofas. The main restaurant has a more simple roof that comes in balance and harmony with the “flowery” elements on the walls and the materiality of sofas and tables. The same philosophy is adopted at the exterior of the restaurant, creating the same  sense of luxury. The color palette of the exterior is alternated to match with the intense interior colors.

  • Main Text 4:

Finally, special attention was paid to lighting, which complements and conveys the sense of finesse. The appearance and multiplicity of classical style ceiling pendants and spots at specified points, create a familiar and yet mysterious atmosphere in every room and allow the customer to indulge himself with refinement throughout the day, as well as in the evening.

  • Main Text 1:

The restaurant concept lives up to its name, Izakaya, which refers to the relaxed way of gathering the Japanese during dinner.
The restaurant’s modern design is as sophisticated and creative as Asian fusion cuisine. The reinterpretation of traditional Asian architectural elements using high-quality materials and natural colors lend a unique appeal to the 200 m² restaurant.

  • Main text 2:

The dominant architectural element in the space is an oak vestibule which create patrons into the restaurant. This feature sections off a slightly elevated seating area that consists three cosy seating alcoves. Sectioned off by frames embellished with Asian-inspired decorations, these small nooks are popular among guests, providing an open view both into the restaurant and outside. Enjoy artistically designed meals while seated at solid wooden table tops set on delicate, canted wooden table legs. These decoration patterns are repeated in the entrance and in the ceiling as well in order to define the functionality of the spaces.

  • Main Text 3:

The walls are surrounded by luxury wallpapers decorated with geometric motifs, while the use of gray cement mortar completes a uniform aesthetic result.
The bar and sushi counter elegantly and discreetly form a stunning palette of colour finishes and material. The black ceiling panelling accentuates the purity of the glass façade and opens up the space. It also creates a backdrop for golden and bronze decorations that catch the light from different angles. The bar’s elegant brass shelf in combination with the orange marble top and the Light wooden slats also seem to come alive in the light. The stone sushi counter has been designed as a solid surface structure in order to provide a dynamic appearance.
Finally, lighting design follows the logic of Japanese culture with a special emphasis on the emergence of materials and the use of pendant decorative lighting from natural materials.

  • Main Text 4:

The décor has been perfectly conceived to the last detail, including luxury but simple materials with stylish brass fittings and atmospheric lighting.

A contemporary wine bar with traditional characteristics was the aim of the project. The challenge was to incorporate a fully operative gourmet restaurant – wine bar in a very small space that could host wine lovers during all seasons of the year.
The idea was to place the bar on the outermost corner of the building shell and mirror the interior space to the exterior. This way, the bar is located in the centre of the space and creates two kinds of halls around it. One is the main section which is equipped with wooden tables for four and a communal table in the back of the hall that stands out together with the wine-red leather, L-shape couch surrounding it.  The decorative attraction of the main hall is the wall mounted wine cellar created from more than 1000 wooden cubits above the high tables. This tailor-made construction for bottle storage forms a traditional lace pattern with shapes of wine leaves and grapes in green and red respectively.

  • Main text 2:

At the opposite side of the bar is the summer section which is a peripheral extension added to the existing building. It is a convertible steel structure with an industrial character equipped with custom made tables decorated with wine grape pattern ceramic tiles, which dress the bar top as well. The tables are framed by linear couches hanged from the walls on one side and high-end design armchairs on the other. Both the roof and the vertical glazing are designed to open during the spring-summer period in order to offer customers the Greek climate experience.

  • Main Text 3:

Walls and floors are coated with a warm grey plaster, steel structure elements are coloured in wine red and wooden furniture in natural colour. Pendant luminaires and speakers decorate the internal hall while wall mounted lamps create a more relaxing atmosphere at the peripheral section. Bamboo trees enclosing the steel structure create beautiful shadings behind the sun-protective rollers during the day.
