Laid by Korfos Bay, in the west side of Mykonos Island, Aeonic is an out of the ordinary retreat that swaps extravagance for authenticity, and attractiveness for sophistication.
The design philosophy pronounces upon clean modern spaces with softer wabi-sabi moments. Embracing the concept of contemporary minimalism, colors, shapes and fabrics eschew exaggeration and quantity composing calm spaces, pared-down to the essence, exhaling a sense of tranquility and peace through simplicity.

The interior subdued palette exists side by side with the vivid view towards the outdoor oasis where the element of water prevails. The light smoothly flows through the generous spaces arousing euphoria while the extended use of natural materials like marble, local stone, and oak in relation to the pitted mortar walls, aspires to stimulate the pursuit for ultimate contact with primitive nature. Within this context, artisanal accents like be-spoke fabric art, ceramics and organic shaped lights, highlight the beauty and charm of imperfection, assuming haptic qualities.
Enjoying spectacular sea view, the commodious premises house all the essential facilities in order to offer a unique hospitality experience.

  • Main Text 3:

The main building consists of delightful common spaces- including welcome area, reception, lounge and dining area, retail and bar- as long as the majority of the splendid rooms. The core element of the plan is the dramatic atrium in the center of the building; apart from connecting the three levels and organizing the uses, it creates an atmospheric game of light and shadow. The skylight stems from the pebble holes of the ceiling, end up reflecting on a water surface on the ground floor, letting its imprint all around the common spaces. The spacious rooms are organized wraparound the building and the various typology offers options for all kind of needs, providing different spatial qualities and possibilities. Each room enjoys its own private generous outdoor space either with an exclusive pool or a Jacuzzi- depending on the floor level. The substantial space and comfy yet high quality furnishing provide the perfect setting for guests to feel a “barefoot luxury”.

  • Main Text 4:

Eudemonia finds its own expression in the wellness area on the second floor of the building. Due to the wood like view of the facilities rooms, it blends in the natural scenery and detached from other communal areas, provides the required tranquility for the guest to gain a unique wellbeing experience choosing from a variety of treatments.
Nestled among Korfos cove, overlooking the sea, the restaurant and the pool lounge area are located next to the main building. This social field is a sublime setting of understated luxury and languorous comfort, designed to offer memorable culinary and relaxing moments.

Keeping up with the mindfulness, nature and relaxation aspects, Aeonic Hotel highlights the rich impulses and qualities of the site finding the balance between richness and restraint- when there’s nothing more to either add or take away.

The initial phase of transforming the Wellness Space involved conceptualization and establishing the design foundation. The design team aimed to create a philosophy of wellbeing and consciousness that would guide the entire transformation. The space was envisioned as a journey of self-discovery, translating this narrative into an architectural language for the Minos Palace building. This phase involved considerations for the floor plan and creating a metaphorical journey from external to internal, symbolizing self-reflection and transformation. Inspired by the ‘Earth Crack’ as a symbol of new life and healing, a design tool broke the existing grid and introduced nature’s aesthetics. Simultaneously, an earthy color palette guided visitors through a sensory journey, representing a progression from exploration to serenity.
  • Main text 2:
Following the conceptualization, the focus shifted to the integration of aesthetics and functionality. The design approach, marked by curved, textured walls and free-form bars & furniture, integrated the conceptual vision into tangible elements, with the aim to cultivate an environment not only prioritizing well-being but also elevating consciousness throughout the rejuvenated Minos Palace.
  • Main Text 3:
The project is being executed in two distinct phases. The completion of the Hotel Reception, Lobby bar, Hotel Restaurant, and Pool Lounge is set for spring 2024, while the completion of the Wellness Space is scheduled in 2025.

The Hotel’s concept focuses on the element of discovery through all of one’s senses, deriving from the Ancient Greek definition of the word OMMA (ὄμμᾰ), being vision.
Contemporary yet timeless, OMMA reflects a philosophy of sophisticated aesthetics, while its unique location at Imerovigli offers spectacular 360-degree views of both the Caldera and the Aegean Sea.
Embracing the concept of contemporary minimalism, colors, shapes and fabrics eschew exaggeration and quantity, composing clean-cut spaces, balancing aesthetics and function, while producing luxury and elegance. The extensive use of the white layer from which the black rock emerges, black oak and marble, combined with the almost natural raw materials, achieve coherence with the natural environment of Santorini, largely defined by lava and ash.
  • Main text 2:
The monochromatic palette and the plastic forms, that highlight a morphological reference to the island’s landscape, prevail. The black and grey elements excluded through the white surfaces creating intense contrasts result in fluid spaces that sculpturally unfold in a tight-knit sequence, always inextricably linked to the magnificent view of the sea and horizon.
OMMA Santorini consists of thirty rooms and suites, most of which have a private pool. Twenty of them are organized amphitheatrically around the element of water, which visually continues in the endless blue of the sea. The various typology of rooms offers options for all kind of needs, providing different spatial qualities, luxurious amenities and possibilities. Pointing towards the west, rooms bask in the magnificent sunset from both indoors and outdoors.
  • Main Text 3:
Cater-cornered on the same 'arch' are located the hotel's restaurants. Each offer different aesthetic qualities and views concerning the landscape: one next to the pool, with the rocky bar and the drilled shading, engender an interesting play of light and shadow, and the other on the first level - a Cycladic balcony with panoramic views of the Aegean. Generous outdoor space around the pool, complete with sunbeds and low sitting couches, provide the perfect setting for guests to sunbathe and lounge in elegance and comfort. The communal spaces, enjoying the breathtaking view of the Caldera, communicate visually and in conjunction with the aquatic element create a social field of various qualities and activities.
OMMA's 5 villas are organized in a separate zone, arranged linearly at the rear of the property, facing the East and enjoying the uninterrupted view of the sea. Each consists of two potentially independent levels, and has its own garden and swimming pool. Privacy of the open space has been taken into consideration in order to provide it with the ideal choice for those seeking complete isolation.
  • Main Text 4:
Wellness finds its own expression in the OMMA Spa. Detached from other communal areas, provides the required tranquility in atmospheric rooms, where the rock element prevails to stimulate the pursuit for ultimate contact with primitive nature.
Two main corridors go across the surrounding area catering to the access along the plot. Secondary paths through planted flower beds provide an alternative way of communicating the spaces. Variety of plants such as palm trees, olives, stipe, etc. border the areas and enrich the hotel environment.
Highlighting the rich impulses and qualities of the site, Santorini OMMA provides a unique hospitality experience allowing holidaymakers to indulge in elegance.

The main characteristics of the architectural design are referred to the modern aesthetic of the existing building by conserving the simplicity of lines and the clarity of style. At the same time, the wide openings of the lobby, restaurant and bar emphasize the flowing dialogue between the internal space and the landscape. The styling choices and architectural handlings of materials and structures produce the necessary complexity of the built environment which in turn reflects to the high quality daily experience of the visitor.

  • Main text 2:

Rooms have been re-designed driven by the need for pure forms and shapes and simultaneously the re-establishment of a more effective connection to the surrounding natural environment. Taking into account the international contemporary trends in hotel interior design, rooms are bright and extroverted. This sense is bolstered by the “open” plan in bathrooms and the use of glass-walls. Wardrobes and bathroom basing tops are designed and constructed by light metal structure which reduces the massiveness and allows the natural light to pass through. Visual cohesion is also ensured by the floating surfaces in the cases of desks and benches.

  • Main Text 3:

In all cases and in terms of color choices, there are color block style zones; the white zone which illuminates the space and makes it minimal combined with a light grey one to blend with the floor’s natural stones.
Black details, carefully selected in terms of their position and range, highlight room’s contrast and design definition lines.  In addition, in each room the colored tiles with geometric patterns replace the local traditional and folk rugs which in combination with the similar styling choices in the lighting fixtures provide a more welcoming and warm effect.

  • Main Text 4:

The final result undoubtedly satisfies the lovers of that kind design which interacts with the natural landscape, creates a game with materials and light and finally enriches the daily routine of each guest.

  • Main Text 1:
Vedema Hotel in Santorini is the first Art Boutique Hotel in Greece. It consists of a cluster of building volumes, scattered irregularly throughout the village of Megalochori. To visually break up the massing of the structures located at the edge of the village, the architect introduced four different façade colors: a soft earthy terracotta, two varying tones of beige leaning toward ivory, and white.
  • Main text 2:
The redesign and renovation of the 45 rooms—carried out in two phases—drew inspiration from preserving and highlighting the existing building tones, along with the distinctive hues of the windows and doors: grey, blue, black, and burgundy. The traditional character of the hotel has been preserved, complemented by a modern architectural vocabulary that follows contemporary design lines while maintaining the understated luxury that defines the property.
  • Main Text 3:
In this spirit, the 45 rooms were redesigned with custom-made headboards crafted from natural materials, proportionate to the scale of each space. The bathrooms were fitted with tiles featuring embroidered-fabric patterns, while a special wall finish in white reinforces the modern character within the traditional exterior shell.
This design approach extended to the common areas as well. The breakfast area, which opens directly onto the pool, features a built-in counter as the central service point. Its black finish harmonizes with the earthy volcanic stone of the island.
  • Main Text 4:
Throughout the hotel, materials and furnishings were selected in natural, earthy tones. Modern touches—such as woven straw and cement light fixtures—infuse the overall atmosphere with a fresh, contemporary feel. The serene ambiance continues in the spa area, designed to meet the standards of a luxury hotel while honoring its traditional form. The treatment and rejuvenation rooms are located within vaulted “cave-like” spaces, and custom wooden structures help create a unique and immersive setting.
The hotel’s surrounding landscape retains its charming narrow pathways and lush, scattered gardens. Balconies and courtyards are enhanced with new outdoor furniture, emphasizing both a sense of hospitality and privacy.
